Inhale with me.

Make it a deep breath, a slow breath that fills the entirety of your body, a breath that can be felt at the base of your feet all the way to the crown of your head. Hold it in for a few seconds. Feel it. Embrace the new life that comes with it. Release, exhaling all of it in its entirety.

Listen. It’s easy to forget the breath–a natural act of our body, yet so simply taken granted for.

We all get washed away with the current busyness that is our daily lives. It’s only natural to do so. It can be completely natural to forget we are in fact breathing. With that, it’s honestly very common to dismiss how shallow our breaths might actually be, as we rat-race through our days, trying our damn hardest to make sense of ourselves, let alone this life we’re expected to show up for.

But my friend, remember to breathe.

Remember that you're breathing. This is enough to bring you back to truly all that matters.

And tell me, what truly matters?

I write this because I have been caught up in the rush of things, and with that, I have lost a lot of myself being lost from myself. I have forgotten, well more so, disregarded the essence of my existence, which is this breath in its simplicity. I have let the exterior experience transform this inhale and exhale pattern, and it’s completely taken me–a wicked undertow that has the power to grip and pull you under, away from the natural flowing current. I have been a bit overcome.

But what has brought me back?

What has always brought me back?

I close my eyes, and connect with this body for what it is. I feel the new air enter into my body, and let it cleanse me, warm me, calm me–like a needed hug that has been there, waiting for you to accept it. This breath has always been my reminder of what truly matters. It's in this present moment that I have always found my comfort, my peace, my balance and harmony. It's this breath that keeps me anchored to home.

So again, as I write this, I am feeling the feelings, I am sitting with the emotions–all while being connected with my breath.

I have found that we are all going to be feeling some sort of way. It’s just not realistic to deny this, and I feel it detrimental to our overall well-being to dismiss this of ourselves, considering the current affairs and the state in which we are all existing in. Life is just too complex to make sense of, especially now more than ever. With that, to feel it all in its entirety is necessary. Feel your shit, be with it, and know that you’re not alone. My friend, you’re not alone. Let me be your reminder that I too have been feeling it. However, I’m here to tell you that, yes, to make sense of yourself and your current state can be a difficult task within the noise. To step away, now, is to connect back to your breath. To clear the noise is to deepen your breath. To come back home is to be with the calming inhale and exhale that anchors you to Mother Earth–here you can better understand all that you are, within a safe space, a space embodied with calming, love, and acceptance, feelings that will better guide you through the possible thickness of what currently is. Again, let me remind you that you are never alone. The breath is a friend that is ever-present, presenting with its gift of infinite unconditional love always.

I ask you again to inhale–

Bring with it this new wisdom I have shared with you.

Connect with this beautiful breath as much as you can, and let it bring you the peace you have been yearning for. Reconnect with the best friend that truly knows you best. Learn to embrace it, calm it, feel it, love it. Learn to be with your breath, and all that it is for you. Mother is always breathing with you.

Exhale.
Up you go
