The thought of you floats through my mind like a leaf in the breeze, waiting for its chance to land somewhere softly. I can't seem to calm the current–I sink into the thought, and there I see your delicate smile. I reach further and touch your softness of skin. It brings me the feeling I've missed, and the reason I let this thought linger, like a leaf in a breeze.
I open my eyes and peer at the glow outside my window. A lampshade radiating warmth with its glow–its surroundings shadowed, and the stars in the night sky reveal themselves one by one as I peer up. I'm brought back to the warm glow of the lamp outside my window, as it matches the lingering energy of the feeling of just waking up to the thought of you. Warm is my heart-space while I reminisce.
The darkness appears a bit more appealing, as the thought of us remains.
I recall it all. This wasn't always easy. I turn away to stay with the good, I admit, but the darkness outside my window, like the glow, has a way of showing itself regardless. There's no denying its existence. I keep reminded of the feelings that too exist with the thought of you.
Sometimes, oftentimes, I just wish...
How I wish we were gifted much more light. How I hold onto every single beautiful memory had with you. How unfavorable is the weight of the aftermath–how I hate knowing I left you with pain. How I wish we held on a bit tighter and how I wish we we're granted more grace–here we were, just two growing souls doing our best with what we had. Your smile is the first thing I see when I think of you, sincerely, as it keeps me hopeful you've been carrying it through it all. Your weighted heart is what I'm carrying, while I sit with this current nightfall. Our soul connection is the two neighboring stars noticed in the night sky above, awaiting their time to be pulled closer to this moment.
All is now, and now I know–this thought of you is all I feel.
I close my eyes and sink back in–there again, your delicate smile.
Those two neighboring stars radiate the brightest in the night sky above, shining a bit more glow upon these remaining shadowed thoughts.
