So let's take the topic of love and elaborate a bit.
Love is our friends and family…
Love is the air we breathe…
Love is comforting, when you know your readers anticipated this article much sooner.
Love is flowers for your lover.
Love is Thai food brought home by your lover… thanks babe.
These were a few ideas shared by some, but with only ideas we are still left with the original question: What exactly is love?
In this past year, I have been the student deciphering all the material that came my way; some absolutely benefitted my better understanding and perception on what love could be. Though, still completely dubious. And from my takeaway, it's fair to conclude that I’ve chosen to tackle one beast of a topic; there just isn’t one definitive answer. However, the one thing I did gather is that love is pure.
Recently, I was sitting at a Sunday service, and the sermon was constructed around the subject: Love flows like water. As sometimes something special just naturally [oddly] tickles within you, this sermon left me feeling some sort of way, so much that I felt inclined to pull out my phone and record what was being said. This is what was stated: “Love, like water flows back into the world through us. It's the one great secret that is available to all. The more we let love flow, the more love that we have to give forward. There's a natural wash of love over everything before us, through us…not just upon people, but birds, and rocks, and flowers, and air [if we allow for it]. Love, like water, falls on everything, and rises within us. Love is the stuff of our being, and as God is love, we are of the Divine Being as well naturally.”
A lot to take in...
But incredibly refreshing and beautiful to consume.
God is love, and we are simply as such.
We take that, and we recall that love is the state in which we were born into this world. Love is our divine birthright; Love is our natural state of being. And in essence, life is just us coming back to that trueness, of being natural fountains of love for all that is. Also, if God is love, and we are from Him (or from the higher Source being), we naturally obtain that piece from Him that is love, which is pure. Love is Him. We are love. He is pure, and so are we. Love is not limited to one single thing or a series of gestures, but rather a constant state of being in which, when reflected forth, affects all things in the purest of ways; love is the perception of all things in a pure light. Love is healing. Love is challenging, because it requires a practice in which we must stay consistent, a practice that may not be familiar until made so. However, love is so rewarding when consistent. Love is forgiving. Love is accepting and non-judgmental. Love is innocent. Love is giving, without expecting. Love is romantic, but doesn’t always have to be. Love is beautiful, selfless, and kind. Love is choosing presence when not wanting to be. Love is keeping connected to your heart and soul, regardless of it all. Love is, and we are. Love is them, however they may appear—in pureness, they are a reflection of you. Love is everything. Love is freeing, and forever free! Love is always within us, but not always completely present, until we, in fullness, accept and recall it as our true being.
As stated earlier, I do understandably believe it's a challenge to portray love under one light. Individually, we are all so uniquely created to experience life with our own values and beliefs, and respectfully, I need to keep this in mind. However, regardless of how unique or unassociated we are to the other, and despite our own experience of love, in entirety pure love is us, and it is upon us to express this love in our own unique way, which shall be always pure and always giving. Love is what brings all that are different together as one. We are all pure reflections of the other. Beautiful, isn't it? So with that, to conclude, love nonetheless is the trueness of our being. Love is who we are, whoever we are, wherever we may be.
We must just allow ourselves to be as we are meant to be, in the purest of form and light.
I was sitting at Sunday service, and I do believe life shifted for me a bit that day. It was enough to inspire me to share my better understanding with you. As the sermon had stated, “Love, like water flows into this world through us…” and out upon everything in such natural essence, with ease and pureness. This I now know and recall as truth.
We were all handed a flower at the end of service, and asked to share it in some unique way that day. I needed milk from Trader Joes (I am also human). I wrapped a note around the flower stem and the note read “You are love[d]”. I placed the flower in an empty grocery cart as I walked in. Upon leaving, I noticed the flower in the cart was no longer there. I smiled with that. Upon arriving back to my car, I looked at the license plate of the car next to me, and it read “U R LUV”.
Also, I want to immensely thank those who took the time to submit entries to the original post. Without your input, this wouldn't have been possible.
I love you all.
Up you go
