Playing: comforting silence
You’ve changed, old friend.

It’s been a while since I’ve last seen you. How’ve you been?
You’ve traveled the world since we last were together. I can only imagine how many smiles you’ve shared, and how many different smiles were shared with you. You’ve become such a worldly one; so cultured and much wiser–I can tell because your smile shows this all now. Your smile now carries a whole new story.
I recall that old smile of yours. It's like recalling an old friend that I will never get back; a friend of a past life, something of a past dream. I relive that dream when I recall that smile, and relive those old memories with a good friend. Hey you can’t blame me–I hold onto that dream because of how pure of a feeling it left. When I fall back, I feel the genuinity of that smile, and it still brings me a smile, old friend.
It’s nice to see you again though. I can’t dismiss this smile, even if it's new, because I truly don’t know when I will see it again. I’ll cherish this one too, because I can only imagine you will carry yet another new one when we cross paths next. Since the last time I saw you, we have both changed so much. We are now individuals flowing with our own evolution. Time doesn’t stop, but close your eyes, and what was the past or the future becomes this moment we share. This becomes the new dream I will relive when I recall that smile.
Listen now–before I leave you to go on with yourself, I want you to make a promise: promise to share that smile with the world, my friend, as this world deserves it. Promise to let it tell the story, as your story reaches new horizons. Promise to keep it so pure and true, and never cease to lose it. I hope, just maybe, that when you smile you relive the dream too of when you used to smile at me, and me back at you, as us old friends used to do. I promise to keep smiling too.

Thank you for sharing one last smile, my friend. Until the next smile we share.
Up you go
